NHS Orthodontic Treatment at Redcliffe Orthodontics
At Redcliffe Orthodontics, we provide orthodontic treatment for patients who qualify for care under the National Health Service (NHS).
Orthodontic treatment under the NHS is generally available for patients under the age of 18 who have a clear clinical need for treatment. Eligibility for NHS orthodontic care is assessed using nationally recognised criteria.
Patients are usually referred to Redcliffe Orthodontics in Worcester by their general dentist if orthodontic treatment is considered necessary.
What Happens at Your First Appointment?
During your first appointment, our orthodontic team will carry out a thorough assessment of your teeth and bite. This may include:
• Examination of your teeth and jaw alignment
• Photographs and dental records if required
• Discussion about possible treatment options
Following this assessment, we will determine whether the patient qualifies for NHS orthodontic treatment.
If treatment is recommended, we will explain the expected treatment plan, the type of braces required, and the estimated treatment time.
Commitment During NHS Treatment
Successful orthodontic treatment requires commitment from the patient. Patients will need to:
• Attend regular appointments
• Maintain good oral hygiene
• Follow the orthodontist’s advice regarding braces care
