Children’s Orthodontics

Orthodontic Treatment for Children

At Redcliffe Orthodontics, we provide orthodontic treatment for children and teenagers who require correction of teeth alignment or bite problems.

Many orthodontic issues begin to develop during childhood. Early assessment can help identify problems with the positioning of teeth and jaws, allowing treatment to be planned at the most appropriate time.

Children are usually referred to Redcliffe Orthodontics in Worcester by their general dentist if orthodontic treatment is considered necessary.

When Should a Child See an Orthodontist?

Orthodontic assessment is often recommended when a child’s adult teeth begin to appear. This allows orthodontists to identify issues such as:

• Crowded teeth
• Gaps between teeth
• Bite problems
• Teeth that grow in unusual positions

If treatment is required, braces may be recommended to gradually move the teeth into better alignment.

NHS Orthodontic Treatment for Children

Commitment During NHS Treatment

Children who meet the clinical criteria may be eligible for orthodontic treatment under the NHS. Eligibility will be assessed during the orthodontic consultation.

At Redcliffe Orthodontics, we aim to make the treatment process comfortable and supportive for younger patients while ensuring they understand the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene during treatment.
